Travel-lesotho.com, an on-line booking tourism business managed by Jonathon, Armelle and Steve of Maluti Treks, provides a unique form of tours business throughout the country. "We are ready to share our local knowledge, secrets and experiences...(of the) Mountain Kingdom" claims Jonathon. "We have first-hand experience in tourism and have a passion for the industry" he claims further.
The company's history spans as far back as 1990 after the directors opened a historic lodge and taking it from strength to strength.
Jonathon, claims to be a 4th generation Mosotho, while Armelle is a French and Mauritian a South African.
The company employs Basotho on a daily basis and claims to be "a bridge between Lesotho and the outside world."
The directors said they aspire to encourage tourism in a healthy way, share culture and bring new livelihoods to the Basotho. They stated that their goal is to provide opportunities for local people to access the benefits of tourism, especially in the far to reach places.
Jomathon says that their main sustainable tourism goals relate to conservation of the environment. He said that they realise that by working with the Basotho and the travellers.
